|Abstract:||The collection consists of correspondence of Regent Hughes Spalding with Dr. E. M. Coulter, Mr. Herbert Bolton, and Mr. John Tate Lanning concerning a possible series of books on the history of coastal Georgia. John Tate Lanning's book, The Spanish missions of Georgia, University of North Carolina Press, 1935, grew out of this correspondence.|
Coastal Georgia encompasses ten counties which include, Screven, Bullock, Effingham, Bryan, Chatham, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Glynn, and Camden Counties.
