|Abstract:||The collection consists of two letters of John Marshall Slaton to his father, Major William Franklin Slaton, dated 1883 and 1886. The former is a typescript telling of his arrival in Athens (Ga.) to attend the University of Georgia and describes his living arrangements and dormitories at the University. The latter also contains University information.|
John Marshall Slaton (1866-1955) was the son of William Franklin and Nancy Martin Slaton and husband of Sally Francis Grant. He was a University of Georgia student and then Governor of Georgia (1913-1915).
