|Abstract:||The collection consists of miscellaneous papers dealing with Thomas Gilbert of the Gilbert Printing Company of Columbus, Georgia. Most interesting are bills from hotels in England, Scotland, and France in 1855, a letter from an English friend (of a later generation) in 1926, telling a bit about World War I, and an interesting letter from a friend in Holland, 1932. There are also samples of printing and two invitations from organizations at the University of Georgia; one from the Chi Phi Fraternity, 1884, the other from the Demosthenian Literary Society, 1888. The latter two items have been filed in the University Program file under the appropriate years.|
