Abstract:The collection consists of papers of Walter McElreath from 1911-1942. The papers contain writings and speeches of McElreath. The majority of the writings deal with the Georgia Constitution and Georgia history. The speeches, given before bar associations, historical groups, and while he was in the legislature, deal with Georgia government and politics, law, the Georgia constitution, and Georgia history.

Walter McElreath (1867-1951) was born in Cobb County, Georgia. McElreath was a lawyer and historian and served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1908-1912.
