Biographical/Historical Note

William Coleman Hardman was born January 17, 1860 in Crawford, Georgia. He died in April 1940 in Crawford. He had three brothers and four sisters. He married Mary Elizabeth Bridges (1872-1915), and together they had four children. He owned about 230 acres of land and had built a decent-sized house by 1906.

Scope and Content Note

The collection mostly consists of farm accounts and diaries from 1890 to 1940. The diaries consist of one-line entry for each day stating the farm activities, family news, and weather. The farm accounts include tenant expenses and purchases for the farm. There are also loose items in most ledgers, such as bills, receipts, and some correspondence.
