Th Georgiana Vertical Files collection consists of newsclippings on a great variety of topics regarding Georgia, and reflect a vast range of the state's history from the 1800s to 1998. This poriton of the collection documents specific cities in Georgia. Clippings were accepted from all sources but the most regular clippings come from the daily newspapers of Athens, Macon, Augusta, Columbus, Savannah and and the Atlanta metropolitan area.

This collection was compiled from a variety of Georgia newspapers over several decades in the latter 20th century as part of the Vertical Files of the Georgia Room.
