The Georgiana Vertical Files collection consists of clippings on a wide variety of topics regarding Georgia, and reflects a vast range of the state's history from the 1800s to 2010. This portion of the collection covers biographical topics related to Georgia. Clippings were accepted from all sources but the most regular clippings came from the daily newspapers of Athens, Macon, Augusta, Columbus, Savannah and and the Atlanta metropolitan area.

This collection was compiled from a variety of Georgia newspapers over several decades in the latter 20th century as part of the Vertical Files of the Georgia Room.
