Henry A. Snider was a soldier in the 18th Battalion, Georgia Infantry, which was also known as the Savannah Guards. The unit was stationed on the islands just off the coast of Charleston. They distinguished themselves at Battery Wagner.
This collection consists of a letter from Henry A. Snider of the 18th Battalion, Georgia Infantry, describing the bombing of Fort Sumter.
