The collection consists mainly of real estate records documenting the Evans Homeplace in Athens-Clarke County. and were donated by descendents of the Moseman, Hale, Evans, and Dyer families and spans from the late 1700s to early 1900s. The papers primarily focus on deeds from 1812-1907. There is also some genealogical/biographical information as well as correspondence from 1867-1919, as well as blueprints, financial papers, and maps. Unusually, there is also a leather wallet (the items have been removed and are located elsewhere in the box).
The oversized materials include deeds and plats. The deeds are from various individuals to each other and cover 1797 to 1858. The plats are from 1845 to 1886.
