The Erwin family resided in Georgia and has a considerably long history in the state, spanning back to the 19th century. Many documents illustrate the family's property through extensive deeds and plats. At one point, an Erwin married into the Cobb family, well known in Athens-Clarke County.
The collection consists of Erwin family Bible records, correspondence from 1858-1950s, unlabeled family photos, bands and deeds from the 1800s-1950s, wills (including that of Harriet D.P. Bryan), various printed materials, account books (including cash receipts from 1941-1953, various bills, receipts and tax statements), and materials about the W.T. Byron estate and the Eustace Floyd estate.
