Howard Holladay war born in Orangeburg SC and graduated from Orangeburg High School and the University of Georgia and was a US Army Veteran. He had a professional career in the insurance industry for 55 years, starting in the life insurance business in Augusta, GA in 1950, specializing in business and personal insurance and estate analysis. He was appointed General Agent of the Boston Office of the National Life Insurance Company in 1961. He brought the agency from its national ranking of 48 to number one in 10 years. In the early eighties he opened his own business consulting firm working with medical cost containment and risk management. A true gentleman of the South, he enjoyed entertaining both in his Beacon Hill home and abroad in his luxury trawler Southern Drawl. --- Howard K. The collection consists of slides taken from around 1958 to 1967. Box 1 consists of images of a variety of subjects including people and places in the Southeast, California, and unidentified locations. Of particular interest are 38 slides of a golf parade in Augusta, GA in 1959. The golfer Arnold Palmer can be seen on a float in a few of the images. There are also slides of a University of Georgia home football game, college fraternity life, and various leisure activities. Box 2 consists of slides taken on several trips to places in Europe and Asia, including the Middle East.
