Emma Lewis Lipps was educated at Wesleyan College in Macon. She later worked at the University of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta, Georgia and Emory University in Atlanta. She also taught at Agnes Scott College during World War II. After the war, she taught in the biology department at Shorter College.
The collection consists of Emma Lewis Lipps' correspondence from 1899-1970s, as well as miscellaneous documents belonging to her. The documents are of the kind that a college professor might collect over the course of a career. Also included are family photographs, including many shots of the Truslow family.
