Howell Cobb (1815-1868), lawyer, politician, Civil War officer and Confederate Government official, born in Jefferson County, Georgia.
Tinsley White Rucker III was born December 10, 1878 and died in 1941. He married Elon Augustus Cason (1878-1953).
Tinsley White Rucker IV was born December 26, 1909 in Warrenton, Georgia. He married Lenore Victor Giddings in 1934 and then married his second wife, Lorol Roden Bowron Rediker in 1966. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1931 with a degree in building construction.
The collection consists of three photograph albums (including cabinet cards, carte-de-visites, and tintypes) of images of Cobb and related family members.
Also in this collection are a scrapbook, photographs, clippings, printed material, certificates, etc. pertaining to Tinsley White Rucker III. Most of this material is dated 1960-1962 and pertains to part of the time he was President of Dixon-Powdermaker Furniture Company in Jacksonville, Florida and President of the National Association of Furniture Manufacturers. There are also a few membership cards and certificates of his son Tinsley White Rucker IV. The collection also includes several rolled copies of the Lamar family tree.
