Ferdinando H. Coppernoll, Union Civil War soldier, fought in Company B, 75th Regiment of the New York Volunteers.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of eight diaries of Ferdinando Coppernoll from 1863-1918. Diary entries concern Coppernoll’s day-to-day activities during the war, while on campaign mainly in Louisiana and Texas, and life in New York. The collection also includes a piece of Confederate shrapnel Coppernoll found just a few yards east of Fort Pickens in 1862.
