Biographical/Historical Note

The Green/Meachem family harks back as far as the 18th century by James Spence of Augusta County, Virginia. The line of Marie Green Meachem follows the Spence family dedicatedly back to the Revolutionary War period. To a large extent, the Green/Meachem/Holcombe/Spence famiies are very American, Southern, and Georgian in origin and culture. Their values and belongings reflect a long genealogy on American soil and especially in the South.
