James Stuart was apparently a resident of Clarke County, Ga., at the time of his death in 1809.
The collection consists of papers relating to the estate of James Stuart (or Stewart), including Thomas Stewart's guardian bond for Hannah R. and Kitty E. Stewart, 17 August 1837, recorded in Book A, p. 141, Clarke County, Ga.; bond of letters of administration for Samuel Stewart, Richard Stuart, Robert Fulwood, John Floyd on the estate of James Stuart dec'd, Clarke County, Book H, folio 58, 16 November 1809; an account for sale of personal property of the estate of James Stewart deceased, 29 July 1809; and an inventory of the estate of James Stuart, dec'd, 9 February 1809.
