Biographical/Historical Note

Sarah McElmurray was born on Debember 19, 1887. She attended the Lucy Cobb Institute and married Frank Brinson in Waynesboro, Georgia in November of 1908. She lived there until her death on May 17, 1971.


Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of a scrapbook containing materials from and referring to the Lucy Cobb Institute, but also to Macon, Georgia, and Brenau College. Photographs of the UGA basketball team in front of Old College (circa 1906) and of Lucy Cobb Institute students are also included. Lucy Cobb Institute invitations and other epherma from this time period are pasted into the scrapbook.
