Dickerson H. Sanders (1830?-1915) lived in Greensboro, Georgia. He was the son of Rev. Billington McCarter Sanders (1789-1854) and Cynthia Holliday Sanders. He married Isabella Roberts in 1860 and, after her death in 1874, married Ella Lindsey Dickinson, the widow of Dr. John T. Dickinson of Albany, Georgia, in 1879.
The collection consists of correspondence, business papers, photographs, printed material, and a diary. There are many love letters written between D.H. Sanders and Ella Dickinson in the 1878-1879 correspondence. The business papers include numerous documents, such as land grants and indentures, which pertain to land in Georgia counties. The 1870 diary belonged to Ella Dickinson and was handwritten.
