|Abstract:||The collection consists of papers of Alice Doster from 1950-1970. The papers include correspondence, clippings, photographs, scrapbooks, administrative records, and convention materials relating to Doster's participation in auxiliaries of the American Veterans of World War II and Korea (AMVETS), Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion in Clarke County, Georgia as well as state and national organizations. AMVET scrapbooks cover the years of 1952-1953, 1956-1959 and for the American Legion Classic City Post 185 from 1959-1960.|
Alice Gertrude Ashley Doster was Clarke County, Georgia participant in various patriotic organizations at the local, state, and national level. Doster's participated in auxiliaries of the American Veterans of World War II and Korea (AMVETS), Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion in Clarke County, Georgia as well as state and national organizations. She was born in 1917 and died in 1994.
