Elmer D. Jones was in the 89th Division, 354th Infantry, Company H, during World War II.
The collection consists of a photocopy of his typed manuscript titled, "The 89th Light," in which he describes his war experiences, Jones warns, "Some of the language is very rank, but war is also profane." Included with the manuscript are also photocopies of the following: newspaper clippings, certificate of the bronze star awarded to Jones, two letters from Jones, and several typescripts of World War I letters from Jones' father, Elmer T. Jones.
