Biographical/Historical Note

Savannah, Georgia, a major port located in Chatham County, was established by the first Georgia colonists on Yamacraw Bluff, named after the Yamacraw Indians who lived there.


Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of five stereoptic views of Savannah, Georgia. Included are views of Live Oak Avenue in Bonneventure; a panorama of Meeting St., South; a panorama of Meeting St., North; a 400 year old cemetery oak; and a view of Broad Street.
