Biographical/Historical Note

Millard Dunn traveled around North Africa and Italy with his unit during World War II. He befriended a young man in a North African school and exchanged correspondence with him during the war.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of one folder and ninety-four items of correspondence during a brief time while Millard Dunn was in WWII. They reflect his assignments in the USA, North Africa, and Italy with the 442nd CAAA. There are two letters and photographs from a young man in French who was apparently in school in North Africa and was befriended by Dunn. A printed card to Bessie Dunn in Moultrie, GA, from Camp Wallace, TX, included a roster of Battery D.
