|Abstract:||The collection consists of papers of Winifred Thomas Smith from 1942-1945. The papers document Smith's service in the American Red Cross during World War II and include mostly scrapbooks of photographs and memorabilia relating mostly to her duty in North Africa, Algeria, and Italy. The photographs depict local points of interest, the aftermath of battle, fellow Red Cross workers, and members of the American forces. The collection also includes correspondence (1944-1945) from Charles Bogner and v-mail from Smith to her mother.|
