Abstract:The collection consists of two postcards from W. H. (Bud) Stuckey in Japan, both written on September 28, 1945. The letters were written soon after World War II was over and describe the Japanese children begging for food and the attitude of the Japanese towards the American soldiers.

Biographical/Historical Note

W. H. (Bud) Stuckey was in the Marines from April 1939 to November 1945. He served with VMF-1, VMF-121 (Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands), and VMF(N)-542 (Carolines, Okinawa, Japan).
