Alfred Abraham Weinstein was a physician and professor at Emory University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war in Japan for nearly four years. He later published a book recalling his experiences as a P.O.W. in "Barbed-Wire Surgeon," which was published in 1948. He also published "As I Saw Russia" in 1963. He did sculpture later in his life, and some pieces have been displayed in some of the country's top museums.
