Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of three documents of the Confederacy: dated Macon, July 13, 1861, a petition signed by James B. McLelland for money to buy a kettle drum; dated Marietta, Georgia, December 3, 1863, correspondence to “John Reid,” signed “ Jesse Thomas,” regarding Bragg’s resignation, Hardee taking command, prisoners, and troop movement in Tennessee; dated 1894, a requisition to Confederate General Charles Clark by John Savage for a horse (or $400 to buy same).
