Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of a card file containing names of Confederate soldiers from the Athens, Georgia area, “who were temporarily or permanently incapacitated, left ranks for any reason, or died during battles," from 1861-1865. Joseph H. Kitchens, Jr. compiled the list, and the collection contains an explanatory note from Kitchens dated February 26, 1965.
