Biographical/Historical Note

The Tarvers were land owners in Macon and Bullock Counties in Alabama, and married into the Banks family of Columbus.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of papers which deal mainly with land transactions. There are also a few letters from assorted members of the family. All of these are in rather fragile condition and are housed separately to keep them safe and secure.
