Biographical/Historical Note

The Tuck family lived in Athens, Georgia. They lived in the South for quite some time, dating back to the 19th century at least. The photographs reveal a family happy to be with each other and in the area they reside in. Many seem to show the family in the 1920s onwards, when shorter dresses had become more appropriate and the flapper hairstyle was popular. The images seem to be from 1900 to 1940.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of various photographs of the Tuck family. There are some newspaper clippings and handwritten notes in folder 9. Folder 10 contains one small notebook of detailed genealogy and a sheet tracing the Tuck family back to the 1870s.
