John Harkrider and Associates is owned by John Harkrider, who was an art director, costume designer, and actor. He was born in Abilene, Texas, in November of 1899, and he died in California in 1982 at the age of 82. He is well known for designing costumers for the original 1927 Broadway production of "Show Boat" and its 1932 revival. He also helped designed the Universal Pictures trademark used from 1936 to 1946 which was sometimes used in the 1970s.
