Barclay Harding was the founder of the Philadelphia Evening Telegraph.
A handwritten note on elaborate notepaper dated "Philada. May 5th, 1847." The note reads in part : "Mr. Barclay Harding presents his compliments to Her most gracious Majesty the Queen but is unable to accept her invitation."
