two letters addressed to mercantile establishments in Cairo, Tennessee. The first from Harvey and Cage, merchants of New Orleans, to Messrs. Williston Hall and Company is dated 7 May 1821, and discusses river shipping and Tennessee's need for groceries and staple goods. The second letter, written 4 November 1821 from Baltimore, to Messrs.
