|Abstract:||The collection consists of bond agreements of 23 September, 1871 between George Samuel McKay and Charles Inman, and Inman and an unnamed party, a bond registration form, minutes of the Committee's meeting, a letter to Inman from Gabriel Lindo, secretary of the Committee, and a newspaper article. It pertains to a meeting of bond-holders at the Cannon-Street Hotel, London in 1881 and its ramifications. The newspaper notice of the meeting succinctly states its purposes: "All holders of Dollar and Cotton Bonds of the various series issued by the Confederate States of America from 1861 to 1864 inclusive, willing to co-operate with and entrust their interests to the Committee appointed... are requested to send in their bonds to the offices of the Committee..."|
